Byrna Leverages AI to Supercharge Ad Campaigns and Web Traffic

Byrna Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: BYRN), a personal defense tech company known for its less-lethal security solutions, is turning heads with an AI-driven advertising overhaul that’s already paying off.

For the first eight months of fiscal 2025, Byrna averaged about 33,400 daily web sessions. But since launching its new proprietary AI-powered content process with the “We Don’t Sell Bananas” campaign in early August, daily traffic jumped 50% to over 50,000 visits—a record high for the company. Amazon traffic followed suit, climbing 75% above the 2025 average in just the campaign’s first three weeks.

The campaign’s commercial has racked up more than 66 million views and is proving remarkably cost-efficient. Each website visitor generated costs Byrna only $0.53—43% lower than its prior “How It Works” campaign. By integrating AI tools with proprietary creative workflows, Byrna can now produce polished ads in days rather than weeks, refresh content continuously, and test multiple variations at scale. The flexibility also allows for faster adaptation to cable network requirements, expanding distribution while lowering acquisition costs.

Early sales data reflects the traffic surge. Byrna.com’s revenue grew 31% in the first 21 days of August compared to the prior period. With many new customers requiring multiple site visits before purchase, the company expects sales growth to continue as conversion rates normalize.

“Our AI-powered approach is proving to be a powerful tool for scaling brand awareness,” said CEO Bryan Ganz. “It lets us create compelling ads faster, optimize performance efficiently, and broaden our reach at a fraction of traditional costs.”

Byrna’s move illustrates a broader trend in marketing tech: AI-driven ad creation is not just a novelty but a way to gain measurable performance advantages in competitive markets. As personal security solutions continue to gain mainstream attention, companies using AI for rapid content iteration and distribution are likely to pull ahead of traditional marketing methods.
